Dave and Shaz started "Q Sport Horses" in 2002.
Dave is from Wexford in Ireland and moved to England in 1996. He first worked
for "Sheila Crow" and became a "point to point rider" Dave can now laugh about
his experiences, having ridden in 34 races. His 4 wins meant that he won every
time he completed, the remaining 30 rides fell!
Dave then went to ride for "Sarah Skelton" before moving to set up a partnership
of rider and owner with "Henry Harding "of Ash in Whitchurch.

This was the start of a serious show jumping career for Dave, firstly producing
many young horses, hand picked by Dave and Henry, and then competing them
successfully.
Highlights include winning the Newcomer final at The Horse of The
Year Show and second in the Foxhunter final. The latter with "Ashdale Futuro"
bought by Henry one cold day at "Osbaldeston" show.
Dave has jumped for Ireland
on ten Nations Cup teams with this horse, including super leagues at "La Baule"
and "Hickstead". He has won major Grand Prix's at "Arezzo" and "San Sebastian".
As well as proving himself at the top level, Dave is extremely well known and
highly regarded as a producer of young horses.
Shaz started riding at the age of ten with such enthusiasm that she soon needed
her parents to drive her throughout the UK and Europe to compete at pony shows
with many successes.
As she started her career in horses, Shaz brought on many horses from grass
roots to Grade A.
Her father "Harvey Wild" then bought "DJ’s Rio Grande" to compete alongside the
home produced "Catch As Catch Can".
This was the start of a great few years for Shaz and her family. Wins included
Area trials, the Daewoo Grandprix and Queens Cup and H.O.Y.S success,
culminating in over £100,000.00 in prize money!
Later on "Lugana Beach" bought from Simon Trent in Ireland joined the team. He
was to carry Sharon to many more successes and still does. He was campaigned
alongside "Candle Queen" also bought in Ireland from Austin Quigley, Dave’s
uncle.
For the last three years, Shaz has mainly concentrated on producing four and
five year olds for resale. The success of these youngsters with their subsequent
riders can be seen on our "Where Are They Now" page.
Dave and Shaz met at "South View" Equestrian Centre in 1998, and married four
years later.
This was also the start of a formidable business partnership. Buying the yard
was a great move and building it up to provide the top class facilities that
they require has been a main focus of their attention.
Selling on their many gifted young horses over the past few years has been their
greatest move forward. They now have world wide contacts through supplying top
show jumping riders with future medal winning horses. This has enabled them to
finance an indoor school, offices, staff accommodation and workshop which are
nearing completion.
When it comes to training riders, Dave and Shaz have another enviable record as
many of their proteges have gone on to major National and International success.

In 2003 daughter Ella was born. She is now riding and enjoying all the shows and
the Spanish Sunshine Tour is her current favourite!!!
2007 saw the launch of "Quigley Horse Boxes". Dave and Shaz have been hugely
involved in the design and construction of a bespoke range of new lorries and
‘drags’ whilst also dealing in new and second hand lorries. This exciting new
business is building on its successful start.
David and Shaz are committed to creating their dream home and yard and to
finding, producing and supplying horses of the highest calibre to an ever
increasing worldwide network of satisfied customers.
